The Secret by Okay.L. Slater – E book Evaluation
One in all my objectives this 12 months is to do an excellent fast evaluation of each guide I learn or take heed to on Audible. I need to do that as a result of I end A LOT of books (see: Audible Wrap Up) and get requested for guide suggestions fairly usually particularly on Instagram tales once I share no matter I’m listening to on the time.
However, when somebody asks for a guide rec – I FREEZE. All of the sudden my mind goes clean and I can’t keep in mind the best way to learn not to mention what’s the very best factor I learn not too long ago. So, maintaining with it is going to assist with that.
I need to know what number of books I learn in a 12 months AND an inventory of all of the books I learn / listened to on the finish of the 12 months (don’t see the Audible Wrap Up for that – as a result of they didn’t embody that stat).
I didn’t set this purpose till 2 weeks into January (once I noticed my Audible Wrapped for final 12 months). I’d already learn just a few books by then, so this isn’t my first guide of the 12 months, however I’ll add these opinions later this week.
What I favored: Simple, gentle story. I loved the backwards and forwards from the previous to current day. I get pleasure from Okay.L. Slater’s writing general.
What I didn’t like: The twist ending felt thrown collectively. There wasn’t a legit motive or any crumbs suggesting it’d go that means.
Different Notes: The tagline on the guide cowl doesn’t actually apply to the guide. Once I seen that I learn the abstract on Audible and that’s a lil off from the guide too. It’s not an enormous deal. I’m solely mentioning it as a result of it makes me marvel if that occurs on a regular basis and I haven’t seen earlier than?!
General Score: 3.5 Stars – I favored it and I just like the writer Okay.L. Slater, however took away factors for the dearth of crumbs (basis to assist) the twist ending.
I feel it was included in my Audible subscription (I think about this a FREE BOOK as a result of it doesn’t expend 1 of my month-to-month credit). You probably have an Audible subscription – there are loads of Okay.L. Slater books which are included proper now. I feel I’ve listened to 7 of her books to date. In case you’re new to this writer and like suspense and lightweight crime (she’s not often graphic or scary) – you’ll in all probability like Slater’s work. I counsel you kind by ‘Greatest Promoting’ and get the best ranked guide to start out (or the best ranked included guide – which is what I did).
